Students celebrate Spanish heritage

JFS Spanish students celebrated National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15-October 15. Students in Señora Melissa Greco’s classes watched short video biographies each day and discussed the impact and contributions that Hispanics have made in our world, inspiring students to dream big and set positive goals in their lives. In addition, seventh graders created a poster about an influential Hispanic of their choice.
As a culmination students learned about the holiday, El Día de los Muertos, tasted pan de muerto (Day of the Dead bread) and watched the movie “Coco,” which is based on the holiday.
