Senior named to advisory board
Congratulations to senior Mia Horwath, who was nominated by Broome County Executive Jason Garner to represent UEHS in the first Broome County Student Board of Advisors (SBA.)
Mia will be join the first class of motivated, hard-working and inspiring young adults who are looking to make a real impact through local government in communities across Broome County.
SBA will provide Mia with the opportunity to directly advise the Broome County Executive, meet government officials, and learn about our local government and the policy process. Most importantly, by participating in SBA, she will benefit from the first mentorship program and gain invaluable leadership skills in civic engagement.
Last April, Garner announced the formation of this youth group, the first in the county’s history, with the hopes of granting young men and women the opportunity to participate in local government.
