What's Happening at UE
Senior creates pillows for patients
Recently, senior Kristen Coyle completed her senior project for the Youth Apprenticeship Program (YAP) through Broome-Tioga BOCES by giving a presentation to BOCES instructors, UE teachers, a UE Board of Education member, a UE Guidance counselor, and medical professionals at Lourdes Hospital. 
UEHS Art Reception
UEHS Art Department hosted its annual Art Reception where art students showcased their pieces in mediums from water color to clay. 
Staff present at NYU
UEHS assistant principal Tom Bierworth, along with UEHS/JFS The Squad advisers Kyle Wolfe and Chris Murdock attended NYU's TAC-D (Technical Assistance Center on Disproportionality) two-day summer institute to present on The Squad.  
BU grad shares message with students
The UEHS Squad held its final meeting of the year with a special guest speaker who talked with members about overcoming struggles and creating opportunities. 
Senior shares fire safety tips with AGM
UEHS senior Eric Dean shared his knowledge and expertise on fire safety with third-, fourth- and fifth graders at AGM when he visited the school recently. 
UEHS Top 20 recognized
During a ceremony, the top 20 seniors in the Class of 2017 were recognized for their academic achievements. 
Budget Results
Here are the results of today’s Budget Vote/School Board Elections:
Budget passed 845-193.
Bus Purchases passed 859-173.
James Truillo was elected to a five-year term to the Board of Education.
 
BOE Recognition at LWW & Tiger Ventures
At its regular meeting, the Board of Education recognized students, mentors and staff at LWW and Tiger Ventures. 
Students perform in youth symphony
The Binghamton Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO) concluded its 56th season with a spring concert held recently at Binghamton High School Helen Foley Theater.  
TJW students are superheroes
TJW students learned how to be superheroes through music performed by local singer and songwriter Jared Campbell. 
Student musicians honored at recital
Nearly 20 student musicians from across the district were honored for their NYSSMA performances at the annual Crawford Stahl Invitational Recital. 
UEHS students traveled to Italy
In April, UEHS Italian Exchange students traveled to Italy to meet with their Italian friends and tour the country.
