Class of 1996 UE graduate Bill Vanderrest has been named the 2017 Connecticut High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) Outstanding Coach of the Year in Girls Track.

Winter Sports Scholar Athlete Recognition
UE board members, administrators, staff, coaches and family members were on hand to recognize nearly 100 scholar athletes for their success in the classroom and in their respective sports. 
Baseball camp a success
The Boys JV and Varsity Baseball teams recently hosted a baseball camp for students ages seven to 12.  
Boys intramural volleyball competes in tournament
For the first year, UE Boys Intramural Volleyball competed, participating in their first tournament at JC.

Boys Basketball donates to Mercy House
Recently, Boys JV and Varsity Basketball team members held a Free Throw fundraiser to benefit Mercy House. 
UE grad receives accolades
Class of 2015 graduate Makayla Krause was named to Empire 8's Sportswoman of the Year Team, representing the Elmira College Soaring Eagles.

UE grad named to all-conference team
Class of 2015 graduate Nicole Petta is swimming to success at the University of Rhode Island, recently becoming the first women's swimming & diving athlete to be named to the Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference team since 2014, the conference office announced on Thursday. 
UE Wrestlers win Sportsmanship Award
The UE Wrestling program received the Section IV Wrestling Officials Assocation Sportsmanship Award.

Two UE wrestlers placed first at the STAC wrestling tournament. Jacob Broder and Cole Rivell both represented UE on the first place podium.

UE Class of 1998 graduate Ryan Fountaine was recently named director of golf for the Baltusrol Golf Club, located in Springfield, NJ. 
Scholar Athletes recognized
More than 100 scholar athletes were recognized at a ceremony for maintaining a 90 GPA or higher while participating in a fall sport.

UE Tiger Josh Greenwood was recognized by the New York State Sports Writers Association as a member of the second team, all-state football team.

In front of family, friends, coaches and UE staff, senior Mark Ryan committed to play baseball at Elmira College during a brief ceremony.

Teresa McKinney, a physical education teacher at GFJ, was recently awarded the New York State Amazing Person Award.

UE Tigers take on 22 Pushup Challenge
In a sea of gray, orange and black, nearly 300 student athletes took the turf at Ty Cobb Stadium to complete the 22 Pushup Challenge. 
UE grad playing pro soccer
UEHS Class of 2010 graduate and soccer standout Kylie Strom recently signed a professional contract with the Boston Breakers, a team in the National Women's Soccer League.

The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation donated a $25,000 Sports Matter Grant to the UE School District's Athletic Department during a press conference held at CFJ.

Two Tiger track athletes competed in the NYS track and field championships this past weekend. 
Swimming & Diving makes donation
The U-E Swimmers and Divers have done it again! Over the last few years, these student athletes have raised nearly $20,000, allowing the Swimming and Diving Booster Club to purchase some great equipment! 
Student scholar athletes recognized
Student scholar athletes participating in spring sports were recognized during a brief ceremony held at the high school.  
Golfer qualifies for state tournament
Hogan Bendert took first place in the Section IV Medalist Golf Tournament at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course at Cornell University, qualifying him for the state tournament. 
Senior creates swimming tiger
Not only is he a competitor in the pool, he has some incredible artistic talent outside the pool. Four-year varsity swimmer and graduating senior Matthew Burnett used those artistic talents to create an amazing mural on the wall in the swimming pool area at UEHS. 
Jim Johnson donates baseball uniforms
U-E graduate Jim Johnson, Class of 2001, donated throw-back baseball uniforms to the varsity baseball team during a recognition ceremony on Friday, April 29 at UE High School, before the Tigers took on the Spartans. 
Pasquale named Academic All-Star
UE Baseball player Tom Pasquale has been named WBNG's Academic All-Star. 
Winter scholar athletes recognized
Varsity student athletes were recognized for maintaining a grade point average of 90 or better during their winter sport season. 
Swimming & Diving attends BU luncheon
Several members of the U-E Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving team attended the 11th Annual Celebrating Women’s Athletics Luncheon at Binghamton University. The keynote speaker was six-time Olympic Gold Medalist Swimmer Amy Van Dyken. 
UE Athletic Hall of Fame
Four UE graduates were inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Friday, January 15. 
UE grad presents NFL Golden Football
Decades of success have walked the halls of UEHS and one of those successes came back to his alma mater to present an NFL Golden Football. UE grad and former NFL player Isaiah Kacyvenski returned to UE to meet students and staff to present this football.  
Fall Scholar Athletes honored
All of Union-Endicott’s fall sports teams qualified as Scholar-Athlete teams this year and were honored during a recognition ceremony at the high school. 
Emily Mackay to run at Oregon State University
Union-Endicott student-athlete Emily Mackay will continue to run competitively, still wearing orange and black, as she pursues her academic and athletic career at Oregon State University. 
Mackay named Academic All-Star
She runs hard on the cross country trails and she works hard in the classroom. All that hard work continues to pay off for senior Emily Mackay who was recently named an academic all-star.
